Every business decision must be made with an eye toward the bottom line. Bring a laptop computer with Excel for this hands-on workshop, and learn to accurately assess your business’ financial outlook by understanding the basics of business accounting and finance.
Class covers:
- Basic accounting terminology
- Understanding key financial statements like income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement
- Fundamentals of financial modeling

Mackenzie is a CPA-turned-entrepreneur. She is the founder and managing director of Square Root Financial (SRF) (http://squarerootfinancial.com/), a financial services firm that provides CFO, accounting and bookkeeping services to early-stage and other high-growth technology companies. Mackenzie is also on the Board of Directors of imagine1day (USA), the brainchild of Lululemon's founder, Chip Wilson, and his wife Shannon. imagine1day currently works in partnership with 487 schools in Ethiopia and is helping transform the lives of 265,000 people annually through education and training. Previously, Mackenzie was V.P. of Technology & Venture Banking at Grandpoint Bank where she sourced and structured venture financing deals between $500K - $3M and, before Grandpoint, was a co-founder of wmbly, inc., a social platform for live and on-demand video content. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Mackenzie audited public and emerging growth companies at Deloitte & Touche. Mackenzie has a B.A. from Claremont McKenna College and a Masters in Accounting and Business Taxation from USC's Marshall School of Business.
