Class recorded October 21, 2024

L.A. County’s eviction crisis disproportionately affects low-income tenants who do not know how to navigate the complicated unlawful detainer court system. This eviction defense training will provide an overview of eviction laws to pro bono attorneys to encourage them to volunteer with a legal services provider to serve tenants and help them stay housed.

Class covers:

  • Basic housing law concepts and tenant protections
  • Overview of eviction case process
  • Practical tips for assisting tenants in eviction proceedings
  • Pro bono eviction defense legal opportunities

MCLE credit is only granted to attorneys licensed to practice law by the State Bar of California. Attorneys from other jurisdictions should contact their state bar to learn about credit reciprocity.
