ON DEMAND: MCLE: Overview of SSDI & SSI Benefits

Two of the most important public benefits for elderly and disabled individuals are Social Security Disability Benefits (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). In this training, learn about various ways that benefit recipients can appeal changes to their benefits and how legal aid can assist in this process.
Class covers:
- A basic overview of these two programs, such as who is eligible and what each benefit provides;
- Examine some of the most common non-disability reasons why SSDI and SSI benefits are changed or stopped;
- Learn the procedure of how to appeal benefits reductions, terminations, and overpayments;
- Potential volunteer opportunities at a Social Security Overpayment clinic
