Social Security Administration (SSA) survivor’s benefits are important economic resources for widows, widowers, and dependents. Until recently, these benefits could be hard for surviving partners of same-sex relationships to obtain. In this class, learn how to access SSA survivor’s benefits for same-sex couples.

Presented by John Miller and Sarah Seville:

John Miller is a Legal Help Desk Attorney at Lambda Legal, where he provides legal education services to members of the LGBTQ community and those living with HIV. John also teaches legal research to LLM and JD students as an adjunct lecturer of law at USC Gould School of Law and works with Native American tribes to promote access to justice.

Sarah Seville is a Help Desk Attorney at Lambda Legal, where she provides resources and legal education to the LGBTQ community, people living with HIV, and their families. Her previous adventures have included work at Equality California, the National Center for Lesbian Rights, the Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law, and the Ripped Bodice Bookstore.
